After many years of campaigning, a statue in honour of Noel Chavasse, also honouring 15 Liverpool VC heroes took place in August. Bill Seargent Founder of the Chavasse association, opened the ceremony and thanked the members, doners from the public and other sources for contributing to the long over due work by sculptor Tom Murphey. Members of Chavasses' Family, dignitaries, VIP's, Members of the Armed Forces bands and veterans public were among those present on the monumentous day.
